Meter Box Standardisation in Sopron

A 20–30 year old meter enclosure no longer meets current standards, and standardisation is mandatory before a capacity upgrade, transfer of a metering point, or requesting a new connection with E.ON. We handle the site visit, the work, and the acceptance inspection.

When Is Standardisation Mandatory?

When upgrading capacity (e.g. installing a heat pump or EV charger), when transferring a metering point upon property purchase, when replacing an old meter, when setting up a new connection, and when E.ON issues a standardisation request.

How Does the Process Work?

First we inspect the existing meter enclosure, obtain the E.ON drawings via the customer portal or by means of a power of attorney, manufacture the new standards-compliant enclosure, coordinate the power outage with E.ON, replace the enclosure, and produce the acceptance documentation.

Capacity Upgrade from Single to Three Phase

If you are installing a new electric cooker, heat pump, EV charger, or air conditioning unit, you will almost certainly need to upgrade to three-phase supply. 3×25 A or 3×32 A already provides 17–22 kW — enough for all appliances in a modern home.

FAQ — Meter Box Standardisation in Sopron

When is meter box standardisation mandatory?
When upgrading capacity (heat pump, EV charger), when transferring a metering point, when replacing an old meter, or when E.ON issues a standardisation request. Without it the new requirement cannot be fulfilled.
Do you handle the process with E.ON on our behalf?
Yes — under a power of attorney we manage the entire process: obtaining the drawings, coordinating the power outage, carrying out the work, and completing the acceptance documentation.
How much capacity does the three-phase upgrade provide?
3×25 A provides approximately 17 kW, and 3×32 A approximately 22 kW — sufficient for all appliances in a modern home, including a heat pump and EV charger.
How long does the standardisation take?
From the site visit to final acceptance, typically 1–3 weeks, depending on E.ON's scheduling. The actual enclosure replacement on site typically takes one day.
